Authors
Juliana Porchat de Assis, head of the Tax Consulting and Planning practice at FAS Advogados, and Eric Nagamine, a lawyer in the Tax practice, participated in Quickly Travel’s first Summit of 2026, held in São Paulo, to discuss the impacts of the Tax Reform on the tourism, events, and corporate travel sectors.
During the meeting, the specialists addressed the main effects of the new consumption tax model, including the implementation of the dual VAT, composed of CBS and IBS, the creation of the Selective Tax, and the transition period scheduled to last until 2033.
The discussion also highlighted key points of attention for companies in the sector, such as the review of contracts, pricing models, use of tax credits, document structuring, and the adequacy of supplier contracting. For companies operating in tourism, hospitality, events, and corporate travel, the new landscape requires strategic planning to mitigate risks, preserve competitiveness, and adapt operations to the new tax framework.
